Dear CrossFit Plano, Let me f irst say how honored I am to be fittingly humbled by your program. In many US military circles, I would be considered 'fit' and above-average, if not well above-average. However, since training at CrossFit Plano, I have come to realize that I am not as fit as I had originally thought - actually, not even close. My weaknesses have been revealed and my poor all-around fitness has left me beaten, yet hungry, determined and focused for more. I graciously appreciate the one-on-one attention, the clear instruction and explanation of technique execution, your willingness to go beyond what is asked and your obvious passion for what you do and who you train. I have realized that, without a doubt, the work you are doing at CrossFit Plano is unparalleled and indispensable to the physical needs of military, law enforcement, firefighters and any other hard-living types. Thank you for your optimism, your encouragement and the vision that you instill in your clients. I look forward to pushing my body beyond its perceived limits. In Christ,2nd Lt. Brian Abrams, USMC - Allen, TX "I have been training at CrossFit Plano for a little over 4 months now and the results I have seen so far are amazing. CrossFit Plano has helped me get in the best shape of my life. Five months ago, I was overweight, lazy and unmotivated and just felt like a slob. On my first day at CrossFit Plano, I couldn’t even do a single pull-up. Now, after 4 months, I can do almost 20 pull-ups in a row, I have lost 7 pounds, decreased my body fat percentage, and I’ve lost a couple inches in my waist. I look better, I feel better, and I have noticed that CrossFit makes me more energetic." Jeff Owens To Troy and everyone that made it out today...thanks. It was my first exposure to a real CrossFit workout...and what a workout it was. I wish a could have stayed a bit longer to chat (and help you pack up) but when I saw the time, I was already running late to be home so my wife could leave me with our daughters and go to her sister's baby shower :) I look forward to future workouts and wish Troy lots of success putting together the first CrossFit facility in DFW. Jordan Ransom - Irving, TX All of you in North Texas looking for a gym, give CrossFit Plano a shot. I was going through town and Troy (the owner) was nice enough to let me stop in and work out. Not only did Troy walk me through the CrossFit standards that I can't do at my gym (muscle-ups, wall balls, kettlebell swings, etc), but he coached me through my entire workout. He's got everything there a CrossFitter could ever want. Andy - Ft. Worth, TX
CrossFit Plano is an excellent facility. Troy helped direct me in my workout program and guided me through my first muscle up…a couple of times! Great coaching and great motivation. Harder than it looks but this will be a way of life for me from now on. Every firefighter should jump on this type of training. The benefits are incredible. Thank you Troy! Capt. David Jones - Addison Fire Department At 45, I finally decided that I didn't want to continue getting fatter and weaker. A search on the web pointed me to CrossFit Plano. I want to say that the CrossFit experience has been far beyond my expectations. I started out the 2nd of January and during my evaluation I was unable to do 1 pushup or 1 pull up. Even with the strongest band I couldn't pull myself up more than 1/2" - 1". Two months into the program I was able to do 5 pushups. Last night, 3 months into the program, I did 5 pullups. The biggest difference I have found between CrossFit's personalized training and other places personal trainers is that at CrossFit you do a workout that is for you and your weaknesses. When I've worked with a personal trainer in the past it was always the same basic workout every session. At CrossFit it's something different every time. Troy, Chris and everyone that has ever offered words of encouragement during a workout, keep up the good work. Joining CrossFit Plano has been the best fitness decision I have ever made. When I started 7 months ago I couldn't do a single push up or a single pull up, even with the largest band. I am now able to do 10 pushups and 5 pullups using the band. The biggest milestone was achieved this morning when I weighed myself; at 264 I am under 270 for the first time in over 10 years. I was at 282 when I started CrossFit. Troy and his staff do an excellent job of pushing you to do more than you think you can, constantly, and more importantly they take the time to educate you. When I started making significant strides in my strength a few months ago Troy took the time to begin educating me on nutrition, pointing me in the right direction to begin making better food choices. So, I just want to thank Troy, his staff and all of the members who have ever offered words of encouragement during a tough workout, it all combines to make CrossFit Plano the finest fitness experience! “ I have been an avid gym rat since a young teen and always hit a plateau in workouts. Partly because I am more of a cardio person (running, bicycle, aerobics)…I hate weights and I don’t want to turn into a body builder! I’ve never been to savvy on the personal trainer route, either. I’m fit, but not strong! I was so bored w/ my workouts and had been searching for an intense program that a woman could handle. Holy $%^#, the goldmine was right under my nose! I was discouraged at first b/c I am so weak and not as flexible as I had thought. But I kept going… After two weeks, my body permeated the CrossFit Koolaid and I can’t get enough! I’m a super busy person w/ work and personal life, so there’s not much time to spend going to a gym. With just three times a week, I noticed a difference, FAST. And the workouts average less than 30 minutes. I’m so much stronger, can do pull ups now, my posture is better and I’m not as achy in my joints. Once you taste this Crossfit gym, and get over your initial discouragement of being a pathetic weakling, you just can’t get enough. This place goes far above and beyond any gym I have been with. And the exercises are simple, make sense! Check it out, you WILL NOT BE dissatisfied! “ Lou Ann Workman |

I second that! Troy is an excellent coach and has the facilities for kick a** workouts. Thanks Troy for putting me through a workout and helping me get my first muscle up.
