I don't like the "everybody wins" mentality either. I think 3 is the best option if it results in other new referrals being part of either Chris or Michelle's chain and deciding a winner.

Hi Chris! I've been okay, but definitely have been better! I didn't get cleared by my doc to work out this week~ which is upsetting. But she did say I can go back next week! See you soon!!!!!!!!

I know, we missed you! It was a good workout. But I'm sure you need time to recoup! How are ya? We are planning on Mon, Wed for sure and Sat most of the time. Other days are up in the air because of work. Love the viking hat pic!

Katie, you are welcome. Runner's high is from endorphins - you probably know that - and it takes a while to produce them - under 30 min usually doesn't make it happen. LSD (long slow distance, eg 30+ min) usually does. And it comes with time. So does loving running. Good luck.

Katie, I tried to "friend" you on this site (Troy's a friend and I used t work out there all t he time; I'll be back eventually) to tell you how to get your mileage up to 3.5 or something like that. Didn't hear back. If you are still trying, here's how. Start run/walking 5 days a week. If you can run for 5 minutes, run 1/2 way out (2.5 minutes), then walk for a few minutes, then run back. Do that 3X a week, first week. 2nd week, run 12 min. each day (6-out, 6-in, walk between). 3rd, 15 min. (again, 1/2 in, 1/2 out). By that time (3wks out) you are up to 30 min of running. That shd. be about 3 miles. From that point you should decrease your rest 3 days a week and try to run the entire 30 min. Do NOT go fast. On the other 2 days, just run 10-out and 10-in, and work at increasing your speed. If you start to get sore, back off. Get a new pair of good shoes (more than $80 usually). End up so you're going long/short/long/short/long, with a couple of rest days, each week. In 1 month, you will be doing 3-4 miles easy. BTW, I'm 62, happily married, father of 4, and have run 6 marathons, including Boston, best time 3:18:30. Good luck.
